The Minnesota Association for Play Therapy (MNAPT) has been organized as a state chapter of the National Association for Play Therapy (APT), a professional society whose mission is to promote the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists. MNAPT is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization formed in April 2005.

As the Minnesota branch of the Association for Play Therapy we strive to carry through the mission of the Association for Play Therapy to promote the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists and advance the psychosocial development and mental health of all people through play and play therapy by supporting those programs, services, and related activities that promote organizational growth, public awareness, research, and diversity in the field of play therapy.
