Beyond the Basics: Advanced Skills for Navigating High-Risk and Sensitive Cases in Play Therapy Supervision
Lead with empathy. Supervise with confidence. Master the hard stuff.
Join us at the Minnesota Association for Play Therapy’s annual conference for a Play Therapy Supervision Training for clinicians eager to add more tools to their supervision toolbox with play therapy supervision expert Dana Wyss, PhD, LMFT, ATR-BC, RPT.
Supervising play therapists through high-risk and sensitive cases requires more than foundational skills—it demands clarity, compassion, and advanced strategies. This workshop equips supervisors to navigate critical topics such as suicide, grief and loss, and self-injury with confidence and care. Complex and high-risk cases are inevitable in supervision—but they don’t have to feel overwhelming. This workshop equips play therapy supervisors with practical strategies to hold space for supervisees while maintaining clarity and compassion. Gain tools for addressing ethical complexities and guide supervisees through the most challenging clinical moments. Learn how to foster trust, navigate sensitive topics, build critical thinking, and support growth in challenging moments.
